I made this terrarium from an antique oak dresser especially for my pet blue tongue skink, but it would perfectly house many different kinds of lizards, snakes, or mammals. I hollowed out the inside, refinished it, and kept the bottom drawer for storage. The living area is accessed via a pull out glass door. The door is kept shut by two brass turn style locks, which both use the same key. I also will include two locks that aren't keyed to replace the keyed ones in case you don't want to use them. Simply unscrew the keyed locks and replace them with the others. The top of the dresser terrarium has a large top-down viewing area covered with removable glass. All of the glass pieces in the dresser have rounded edges, so you don't have to worry about getting cut. Inside, the terrarium is also has finished oak walls. The floor is covered by brown Alcoa aluminum, making it easy to clean. There are two large vents at the top of the back wall that are covered by aluminum vent hoods. They are high enough that your pet will not be able to reach them and get cut. There are screens in the vents so bugs cannot get in. At the top of the right wall is one electrical outlet where you can plug in a lightbulb receptacle for a heatlamp bulb. Because the unit is made of wood, it retains heat very well.
